Every story has the power to change lives, and yesterday, our chairman (and more importantly) Mitchel’s dad, Steve Kiefer, shared his family’s story with students at Brother Rice High School - broricewarriors

As part of National Teen Driver Safety Week, students heard Mitchel’s story and experienced firsthand how distraction can lead to tragedy and how choosing to Just Drive can save lives. The school also debuted six new Just Drive Simulators, donated by Brother Rice Alum, Mr. Thomas Campau, giving students a hands-on way to understand the importance of focus and responsibility behind the wheel.

We’re so grateful to Brother Rice for welcoming this important message into their community and to every student who took part in this life-saving conversation. Together, we’re helping teens understand the real consequences of distraction and empowering them to speak up for safety.

The Kiefer Foundation is proud to debut Just Drive, an original song written by Steve Kiefer and Maureen Kaiser. Born from personal loss and a shared determination to protect others, this heartfelt piece transforms grief into purpose. Just Drive is both a tribute and a call to action, reminding us that every distraction we eliminate helps protect the people we love most. It adds a meaningful new dimension to how we communicate the urgency of safe driving. The Just Drive song is available on all streaming platforms.
