Student filmmaker Alyssa M. of Troy Athens High School created “See Clear, Drive Sober,” a powerful public service announcement about the dangers of impaired driving. Her video received the Michigan Coalition to Reduce Underage Drinking Award in the 2026 Courageous Persuaders competition, presented by the National Road Safety Foundation.

In the video, Alyssa uses a simple comparison to show how alcohol can affect vision, reaction time and awareness behind the wheel. When your ability to see and respond clearly is impaired, you can miss what’s right in front of you.

Congratulations to Alyssa M. on this well-deserved recognition and for sharing such an important reminder: keep your eyes on the road and never drink and drive.

This year’s event was especially meaningful as we honored the 10-year anniversary of Mitchel’s passing while continuing to bring people together around our mission to end distracted driving.
