On this day, September 19, 2026, exactly ten years since we lost Mitchel, we gathered for The Mitchel Kiefer Memorial [Disc] Golf Event: Chasing Aces, Saving Lives.

Surrounded by family, friends, and supporters, we honored Mitchel’s life, celebrated his legacy, and continued our work to change the world in his memory.

The setting could not have been more meaningful. Mitchel was an avid disc golfer, and the event was held at Cass Benton Hills - his favorite course and the place where he made his first ace on Hole 12.

During the event, we broke ground on two permanent memorials that will be installed at the course later this year: a memorial bench on the practice green and a memorial boulder at Hole 12. Together, they will create a lasting place to remember Mitchel, share his story, and remind everyone who visits that the choices we make behind the wheel matter.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who joined us on such a deeply meaningful and emotional day. Your presence meant more to the Kiefer family and The Kiefer Foundation than we can express.

Ten years later, Mitchel’s life continues to inspire action, save lives, and change the world.

On this day, September 19, 2026, exactly ten years since we lost Mitchel, we gathered for The Mitchel Kiefer Memorial [Disc] Golf Event: Chasing Aces, Saving Lives.

Surrounded by family, friends, and supporters, we honored Mitchel’s life, celebrated his legacy, and continued our work to change the world in his memory.

Student filmmaker Alyssa M. of Troy Athens High School created “See Clear, Drive Sober,” a powerful public service announcement about the dangers of impaired driving. Her video received the Michigan Coalition to Reduce Underage Drinking Award in the 2026 Courageous Persuaders competition, presented by the National Road Safety Foundation.

In the video, Alyssa uses a simple comparison to show how alcohol can affect vision, reaction time and awareness behind the wheel. When your ability to see and respond clearly is impaired, you can miss what’s right in front of you.

Congratulations to Alyssa M. on this well-deserved recognition and for sharing such an important reminder: keep your eyes on the road and never drink and drive.
