Today, we honor the life of Hunter Garner, submitted with love by his mother, Julie. Hunter was just 16 years old when his life was tragically cut short in a crash caused by distracted and reckless driving. He was sharp-witted, creative, street-smart, and deeply loved by his friends. Losing him shattered his family’s world.

In the midst of unimaginable grief, Julie and her family transformed pain into purpose. They created Project Yellow Light, a national scholarship competition that empowers teens and young adults to use their voice—and their creativity—to speak out against distracted driving. What began as a tribute to Hunter has become a powerful, nationwide movement saving lives through peer-to-peer advocacy.

Hunter’s story is a reminder that nearly all crashes involving young drivers are preventable. A moment of distraction can change everything.

To every young driver:
✨ Your voice matters.
✨ Your choices matter.
✨ You can save a life.

Learn more about Project Yellow Light and how to get involved at projectyellowlight.com. Not only could you win a scholarship, but your work might be shared nationwide. And best of all, you could help save lives.

We are grateful to Julie for courageously sharing Hunter with us. His legacy continues to inspire action, hope, and change. 💛

Holiday plans, family events, and nights out often mean hopping into a rideshare. If your driver is texting, swerving, or not staying focused, don’t stay silent. Your safety comes first!

Toddlers love to get our attention, even while we’re driving. Remember: respond with your voice, not your eyes. A quick glance away can be dangerous!

As winter weather sets in, the roads demand more focus and more care. Reduce your speed, increase your following distance, and keep your phone out of sight. Safe choices save lives — especially in winter conditions. ❄️🚗

💚 Remembering Conner “Gweedo” Guido

At just 16 years old, Conner Guido was full of life. He was a bright, funny, and athletic teen who loved soccer, made everyone around him laugh, and was known for his kindness and big heart. Conner’s friends called him “Gweedo,” a nickname that still brings smiles to those who loved him most.

On October 26, 2019, Conner’s life was tragically cut short in a crash caused by a reckless, unlicensed teen driver. His death was 100% preventable. From that tragedy, his mother, Tammy McGee, created the Gweedo Memorial Foundation and launched IfYouSeeSomethingSaySomething.org, a place where teens can anonymously report dangerous or unsafe driving.

Through her advocacy, Tammy has helped pass five teen driver safety laws in Virginia, all in Conner’s memory. Her strength and determination have turned heartbreak into hope, helping to keep other families from living the same pain.

💬 The message of Conner’s story is simple:
If you know someone is driving without a license, impaired, distracted, or recklessly, say something. Your voice can save a life. Conner’s crash was 100% preventable, and if just one person had spoken up, he might still be here today.
